Prerequisites

This section describes the requirements and the compatible versions for Foglight for MongoDB.

MongoDB Version Requirements

Foglight for MongoDB supports MongoDB version 3.6 and later. However, some data may not be available when monitoring earlier versions. The minimum required MongoDB versions for specific monitoring features are listed below.

Foglight for MongoDB does not support the MONGODB-CR authentication mechanism, which was deprecated in MongoDB 3.6, removed in MongoDB 4.0.

Foglight also supports monitoring MongoDB clusters hosted on MongoDB Atlas, the platform-as-a-service (PaaS) offering from MongoDB. While some platform restrictions apply, the Foglight for Atlas MongoDB cartridge is recommended for monitoring Atlas-specific features.

MongoDB 4.4.0 and later Current ops monitoring is available.

MongoDB 4.2.0 and later The profiled operation query hash is available. This hash is used as a grouping field when aggregating operations in Profiled Operation Historical Aggregates. In earlier versions, the command is used instead of the query hash.
